SOCIAL WORKER
I have been practising as a Social Auxiliary Worker subsequent to qualifying as a Social Worker. I have more than 9 years of experience working with survivors of abuse conducting risk assessments, for children with suspected abuse and neglect, psychosocial support and assessments for children to determine bonding and attachment for access cases. Social Work has always been my passion and I have also worked at various welfare organisations. I previously enjoyed working with adolescents labelled as uncontrollable, conducted group therapy and assisted with diversion programs. Prior to my employment at Kidz Clinic, I was privileged to assist with safeguarding children that were in need of care and protection as stipulated in the Children’s act 38 of 2005 as amended.
I am currently employed at Kidz Clinic Boksburg as a Social Worker doing play base therapy with children aged 3 years to 18 years that have been exposed to trauma. It is an honour to facilitate a child’s journey towards healing by using effective play techniques. I also empower parents, foster parents and families with skills to support their children in their journey towards healing in the feedback sessions provided. I am also assisting with competency assessments for children that has to testify in court against their perpetrator or that has witnessed a crime.
I believe that the positive investment we make into the lives of children is the most valuable as they are our rising leaders.
