Although this does not bring back young Enock, Women and Men Against Child Abuse are pleased that the findings of the report revealed that Park Town Boys High School, Nyati Bush Lodge as well as the SGB were negligent, resulting in Enock’s death.
As an organisation we were very vocal about the suspension of the Principal pending this investigation. His action and that of a number of authority figures WAS NEGLIGENT. As such the appropriate course of action should be taken against all involved.
Our schools should not be death traps for children. There are protocols that are put into place. We have seen since the beginning of the year 2020, tragedy befall children. These tragic events can be DIRECTLY LINKED to one systemic failure or multiple systemic failures that should be in place to protect children.
WMACA will continue to follow this case.
We are grateful of the speed with which it was released as Mr Lesufi had said such reports usually take up to six months.
